Welcome!

The University of London Graduate Mountaineering Club (ULGMC) is a national mountaineering club affiliated to the BMC.

ULGMC was set up in 1950 in order to provide a forum where ex-members of the University of London Mountaineering Club (ULMC) and the University of London could continue to profit from the benefits of a formal organisation. It aimed to create opportunities for its members to meet and climb and maintained links with ULMC in order to promote and encourage all branches of mountaineering, hillwalking and climbing among our members, students and graduates of the University of London..

Today its membership is wider by far than the original restriction to former students or staff of the University of London and the constituent colleges. We welcome new members from all walks of life, so do come and join us!

ULGMC members benefit from access to two huts, Caseg Fraith (near Capel Curig, Snowdonia) and Fallcliffe Cottage (near Hathersage, Peak District), social events and our meets programme. We run regular meets to the Peak District, Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Cairngorms, the Brecon Beacons, Cornwall, the Alps and many more places. You can check out reports from some of our past meets and our meets FAQ. We also maintain a Tryfan webcam.
