Annual subscription rates for 2025
The membership year runs from January to December to align with the way the BMC charges us for third party liability insurance. Please, pay your subscription fee by early February latest to ensure you receive the full benefits of your membership, e.g. subscription to club news, hut discounts, Summit magazine subscription, BMC membership card you can use for store discounts.
The annual subsription fee is £35.50 for adults which is made up of two parts: the larger share covers the cost of BMC affiliation (£29.33) and approximately £6 contributes to the running of the club. We do not charge children of our members a subscription fee, but they will not be affiliated with the BMC and they will have no third party liability insurance. Please, contact the membership secretary if you need your children to be BMC affiliated.
Following the 2024 AGM we have moved to a single subscrition fee per head. We are a relatively small club that is run entirely by volunteers and managing the different BMC affiliation rates (from £17.60 to £29.33) has become a significant and unmanagable administrative burden. Please also note that non-UK residents cannot be BMC affiliated and have third party liability insurance.

Please, notify the membership secretary if you want to change your club contribution/BMC affiliation category or need to update your contact details. |

You are likely paying for BMC club membership multiple times, If you are a member of more then one BMC-affiliated mountaineering/climbing clubs. You can reclaim these from the BMC.

Upgrade your BMC club membership
The BMC offers "individual" and "club" memberships, which come with sligthly different benefits. ULGMC is a BMC affiliated club and our membership includes the BMC club membership for UK residents. The BMC let's you upgrade to an individual membership for £17.95/year.
