President's update: ULGMC AGM and COVID-19

Dear members,

Some of you have already written to me with you concerns over the global health crises caused by COVID-19 in relation to the upcoming AGM on 10th April at Plas y Brenin, Snowdonia.

I want to share my thoughts to help you plan and if at all possible reassure you.

1. We will be following UK government's and Public Health England's advice. This means the AGM will go ahead unless the advice changes further. We obviously also rely on Plas y Brenin and Caseg Fraith to keep our bookings and I know the trusts will be following the government guidelines closely too.

2. Like last year, there will be an opportunity to proxy vote. I am hopeful that I can send around most decisions points 1-2 weeks before the AGM, so you can vote directly rather than having to nominate an attendee or the chair. This should help members who have to self-isolate and can't attend or members who would rather not attend.

3. If the AGM has to be cancelled/postponed due to government guidelines, or due to circumstances such as loss of the venue, then I will provide you with a complete written update and explore the possibility of providing online voting for all decisions we would have voted on. I will also explore the feasibility of a Skype-like online Q&A.

I'm happy to hear your thoughts and feedback on this matter.

In the meantime, please stay calm, take care of yourself and wash your
hands.

Best wishes,
Stephan (ULGMC President)
